News flash to Mike Milbury and all of the other idiots out there who think that GMGM sent some sort of sign to Sasha by only giving him a one-year contract:  THAT’S ALL SEMIN WANTED.  McPhee offered him more, but Sasha wouldn’t take it.  He’s always been on one-year contracts, because he won’t sign anything else.

So stow it.

HOCKEY SURVEY

1. Favorite team: Detroit Red Wings

2. Favorite player: Pavel Datsyuk

3. Best game I’ve been to: The best game I’ve been to was Wings vs Capitals last year in the Joe.

4. 3 teams I don’t care for: I cannot abide the Chicago Blackhawks, the Anaheim Ducks, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. 

5. If my team doesn’t hoist the Cup this year, I hope it goes to: Winnipeg Jets.  Welcome back to the NHL, guys.

6. First favorite player? Stevie Yzerman.

7. Why am I a hockey fan? I am a hockey fan because no other game combines heart, toughness, finesse and incredible speed the way this one does.  Also, hockey players seem to be more generous and more well-spoken than players in a lot of other team sports.

8. Team Crosby or Team Ovi? Team Ovi. No question.

9. Second favorite team: Washington Capitals.

10. Favorite Russian player: Pavel Datsyuk. The man is magical.

11. Favorite Swedish player: Nicklas Lidstrom, the Perfect Human.

12. Favorite American player: Chris Chelios.

13. Favorite Canadian player: This is hard!!!  I’ll say Brad Stuart.

14. Staals or Sedins? Sedins.  The Staals are good players, I guess, but they sort of make me ill. (It’s a personal thing.)

15. Player I like on a team I don’t like: Jonathan Toews on the Blackhawks.  He’s skilled and seems to be a decent person, but I just loathe his team.

16. Craziest thing I’ve done for my team: Wore my Wings jersey to the Honda Center when I went to a playoff game ALL BY MYSELF.  I was certain I was going to get mugged, but the Ducks fans were really cool.  Kudos.

17. First player I met: Valtteri Filppula and Johan Franzen, and they were both nice as could be.

18. Team I’ll support in Sochi 2014: USA, but I’ve got a sentimental attachment to Team Canada and Team Russia.

19. Arena I’d kill to watch a game in: Verizon Center

20. Player currently on my team whose number deserves to be retired: Nicklas Lidstrom, Mr. Norris, the Perfect Human, SuperSwede.
